Today, **November 25th**, marks the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women—a date established to honor the legacy of activists, particularly the Mirabal sisters, who were tragically assassinated for their resistance in 1960.
This campaign, running through **December 10th (Human Rights Day)**, reminds us of the profound truth recognized by the UN in 1993: **Eliminating violence against women is a fundamental human right.**

1 in 3 women and girls** globally experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime.
On average, nearly **20 people in the U.S.** are physically abused by an intimate partner *every minute*. This equates to more than **10 million** women and men annually.
Youth Risk:** 1 in 12 U.S. high school students report having experienced physical dating violence in the past year.

Allied with other advocate organizations, we stand unified in our commitment to provide help and access to resources for those in dire need.
