Why We Exist

In the aftermath of relationship abuse, safety and shelter are essential first steps—but healing doesn't end there. True long-term recovery requires restoring self-worth, agency, and confidence.

We were created to address the emotional and practical transition survivors face after trauma. By using beauty rituals, self-care practices, and creative expression as non-traditional tools for self-advocacy, we help survivors across Maryland and Washington, D.C. move from survival mode to thriving independence.

"I founded Rebelle With A Cause because I saw firsthand how critical it is for survivors to reclaim not just safety, but their sense of self, dignity, and confidence."

Driven by a passion for creative expression and survivor advocacy, Sydelle created Rebelle With A Cause to bridge the gap between emergency shelter support and long-term personal empowerment. Having witnessed the transformative power of self-care rituals in restoring self-worth, she developed our signature programs to ensure every survivor in our region feels seen, valued, and equipped to rebuild their future.

Rebelle With A Cause Inc. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization guided by a dedicated Board of Directors. Grounded in fiscal responsibility, trauma-informed principles, and community advocacy, our leadership team ensures every partnership and donated dollar directly powers survivor dignity.
